Hi, I’m Zexi. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard, respected, and able to show up as
yourself. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, non-judgmental, and grounded in a
strong therapeutic relationship. I am also a direct therapist. I am not here simply to tell you what
you want to hear or agree with everything you say. My role is to support you with empathy and
compassion while also helping you notice patterns, beliefs, or behaviours that may be keeping
you stuck. I see therapy as a space not only to feel understood, but also to build insight and make
meaningful, lasting changes in your life.
I am particularly interested in supporting adults and couples experiencing ADHD, anxiety,
depression, stress and burnout, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties,
relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, workplace stress, and minority
stress. As a gay Asian man, I also bring lived experience that informs my commitment to
2SLGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally humble care, while recognizing that every client’s story
is unique.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief
Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches, and
attachment-informed perspectives. Together, we can explore how past and present experiences
may be shaping your emotions, relationships, and patterns of coping, while identifying practical
steps that feel realistic and aligned with the life you want to build.
I am fluent in English and Mandarin and welcome clients from diverse cultural backgrounds,
identities, relationships, and lived experiences.

My goal is to create a warm, compassionate, and collaborative environment where clients can explore life’s challenges without judgment while developing practical tools to move toward the life they want.

Throughout my career in case management, public health, and community care, I have worked alongside people from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate uncertainty, advocate for themselves, and build resilience during some of the most difficult times in their lives. These experiences have shaped my calm, compassionate, and client-centred approach to psychotherapy.

Many of the challenges we experience are shaped by the relationships, cultures, and experiences that have influenced us. Childhood experiences, family dynamics, cultural expectations, trauma, grief, and life transitions can impact how we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. I support individuals who are exploring their identity, healing from past experiences, and seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. My areas of focus include South Asian mental health, immigrant experiences, intergenerational patterns, childhood wounds, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and more.
My approach is warm, compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma informed. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where your lived experiences, values, traditions, and personal story are honoured. Together, we can explore the patterns that may no longer serve you, develop emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change.
Having lived and understood the experience of navigating multiple cultural worlds, I recognize the importance of feeling seen and understood within therapy. I strive to create a space where your cultural background, values, traditions, and personal growth can coexist. Sessions are available in English, Tamil, and Hindi

Have you been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward? Maybe anxiety, self-doubt, identity concerns, or past experiences have been making it harder to feel like yourself. Taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult, and reaching out is already a meaningful act of courage.
I support individuals who are looking for a safe, collaborative space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. As an LGBTQ+ therapist who is neurodiverse, I understand how important it is to feel seen and respected in therapy. My goal is to work alongside you to better understand your experiences, build practical strategies, and create lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is warm, genuine, and person-centered, while also being willing to gently challenge unhelpful patterns when helpful. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT-informed strategies, and emotion-focused work, tailoring therapy to your unique needs and goals. With my background as a music therapist, I also recognize that creative approaches to healing and self-discovery can be powerful when words alone are not enough. Together, we can create a path toward greater confidence, resilience, and well-being.

FAQs
What are the rates & how do I choose my rate?
Our affordable therapy program runs on a sliding scale from $35 to $95 per session.
Once you've booked your first full session, you will be emailed some intake forms to complete. This form will include a section where you can choose your rate, which will be honoured until your intern graduates.
We ask that you choose a rate that is comfortable for your financial situation. Those who have the ability to comfortably pay a bit more are generously paying it forward for those requiring a lower amount.
Are these services covered by insurance?
Yes! As long as your insurance covers "psychotherapy" you should have no issue getting reimbursement from your insurance provider. If required, we can also include the name of the therapist's supervisor on receipts, as that can help ensure your claim is accepted.
How do I pay for sessions?
To help ensure this program runs efficiently, we only accept credit card / visa debit payments for our pay-what-you-can program. Once you have paid, you will be provided a receipt that you can submit to your insurance if applicable.
Can I change my rate?
Yes. However we do ask that you select a price that works for you at the outset to avoid constant changes. If you need to change your price (lower or higher) simply let your therapist know, and they will confirm the change with the clinic director, who will then lock you into the new price.
